Product Description

The high-performance HDTVa amplified indoor HDTV antenna from Terk Technologies is designed to capture both UHF and VHF signals (channels 2 to 69) while extending the reception range for all local HDTV broadcasts. The HDTVa uses an ultra-low-noise, high-gain amplifier with Terk's exclusive Dual-Drive Amplifier technology for clear reception of both distant and close HDTV and DTV stations.

As suitable for those living in city apartments as for those in suburban homes, the compact HDTVa lets viewers experience HDTV broadcasts in full resolution. Designed for total reception versatility, the HDTVa's high-gain antenna array can be oriented either horizontally or vertically within its mounting base to achieve optimum capture of off-air broadcasts.

Set the amplifier to high-gain mode to compensate for signals that are too weak or might otherwise be bypassed for a stronger signals nearby. Simplifying your installation, the HDTVa uses Terk's Power Injector to derive power via its coaxial connecting cable. The result? One cable is all you have to connect, making it easy to install the HDTVa atop or near your television.

The antenna is engineered to receive all local HDTV channels, with an operating bandwidth covering both the UHF (channels 2 to 13) and VHF (channels 14 to 69) frequency ranges. Its highly directional log periodic UHF and precision VHF elements are designed to receive HDTV broadcasts with maximum signal strength while rejecting all or most interference. The HDTVa is as exceptional in appearance as it is in performance: its curved, tapering, polished-aluminum antenna elements are mounted in a slim base with a contoured front that visually complements the curve of the antenna elements.

Summary: not very happy with it
Comment:
After I received this product, I was trying from different directions. I can receive the channels listing from antenna website. However, it is not consistant. Sometimes, it works perfectly but another time it doesn't work at all.

Customer Rating:
Summary: Wonderful product
Comment:
I purchased the best antenna at Best Buy when I bought my new HDTV and it was a serious disappointment. When I got the Terk up and running I was surprised by the complete difference between the two products. This antenna is wonderful! The clarity of picture and the ability to get more channels allows me to stay away from the highway robbers known as cable and satellite companies! I am extremely satisfied!!

Summary: Got all channels within 52 miles
Comment:
I have been very pleased with this antenna. Personally, I think it's a little ugly, but I can't complain about the performance.

I bought this along with a digital converter box, to supplement my Dish service to get Local Channels, that are not included in my Local Dish channels.

I believe the range is only supposed to be 35 miles for this antenna, but I'm able to get all channels within 52 miles.

The Terk HDTVi is also a very good product. I was able to get all but one channel that I get with the HDTVa, and the amplified model doubles the reception signal strength.

Customer Rating:
Summary: Very Low Signals
Comment:
I purchased this product with a lot of excitement after reading all the positive reviews. I live in San Gabriel Valley, close to mountains and this antenna didn't meet my expectations. It had very low signals and I could hardly see SOME of the local channels. Unfortunately, I had to return it to Amazon for a full refund.

Summary: Works, even in my BASEMENT!
Comment:
I live in a garden level basement apartment of a house. I paid way too much for this exact antenna at Best Buy ($75), but that doesn't take away from the fact that it is a good antenna. After trying out a few others, this was the only one that worked in my dungeon. With my old rabbit ear antenna, I used to only get about 5 fuzzy stations. Now, with a converter box and this antenna I get nearly a full signal on about 20 stations! Wish I had bought a converter box and antenna a long time ago. Crystal clear reception and sound.

I accidentally knocked it over, off my mantle. It took a 5 foot tumble to the hardwood floor, and it still works perfectly. Just make sure you plug the metal piece into the base securely, and you will get good reception. If you do not plug it in enough, the reception is only as good as rabbit ears would be. This step makes a HUGE difference.

I am sticking with this antenna, and will likely buy a few more. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

**Make sure you get the HDTVa, and not the HDTVi.
